Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah.

Among the beauties of Islam is the fact that in this religion, there are no intermediaries in the relationship between a person and their Lord. Entering this religion does not involve any special ceremonies or procedures that need to be performed in front of another person. Additionally, it does not require the consent of any specific individuals. Becoming Muslim is easy and can be done by anyone, even if they are alone in the desert or locked in a room. All it takes is to recite two beautiful sentences that encapsulate the essence of Islam and include the statement of a person being a slave of their Lord and submitting to Him, recognizing Him as their God, Saviour, and Protector who decrees everything He wishes. And acknowledging that Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the slave and messenger of Allah, and following his teachings is part of obeying Allah.

Anyone who utters these twin statements of faith with conviction and believes in them becomes a Muslim, enjoying all the rights and responsibilities that come with being a member of this community. After this, one can immediately start performing the obligations that Allah has laid down, such as the five daily prayers at their appointed times, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and so on. Thus, it should be clear that one can become a Muslim without delay. So, get up, take a shower, and say:

ASH-HADU ALLA ILAHA ILLA-ALLAH WA ASH-HADU ANNA MUHAMMADAN RASUL-ALLAH

meaning, ‘I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and messenger.’ May Allah guide you to do only good and straightens your path. May He decree for you happiness in this world and the next, and may peace be upon those who follow the true guidance.
